“Heather and Velvet” by Teresa Medeiros
Prudence Walker is minding her own business. Out in a storm looking for Sebastian and calling his name frantically.Sebastian Kerr the Highwayman is minding his own business. Out in a storm, trying to rob a stagecoach. When he hears Prudence calling his name and attention diverted, ends up shot.
Only thing is, Prudence has really been calling for her cat, Sebastian, and when she stumbles across an injured highwayman, what’s a girl to do but seek shelter from the storm in a little hut, together with aforementioned highwayman. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Sebastian is one tall, hunky Scot with a brogue that makes you want to curl up against him and rub him down. Only because he’s been caught in the rain of course.

“If You Dare” by Kresley Cole
*enters Lola carrying two burning incense sticks*
Lola: So Mimi’s back.
Sheridan Sakura Carlotta: I know. The whole office smells of guano. *picks up Febreze and starts obsessively squirting the product into the air* You know, she brought some bats home with her. “Vampire bats†she said, “makes me feel closer to V.†Oh Lola, you’re looking a little green. Don’t worry. I made her promise not to let them leave her closet. It’s not like we go in there anyway what with her shrine to Ed Gein in there. No really. Stop…stop gagging and if you must, please stay away from my red velvet couch. I just got it upholstered. Ok how about you just breathe deeply *squirts Febreze in Lola’s direction*…there you go. Breathe it in…No wait okay you’re gagging again and…how about I distract you? I urhm…oh I recently read “If You Dare†by Kresley Cole! I liked it! Though I must say, I didn’t quite care for the hero’s “dinnaâ€, “donna†, “canna†terms of speech. I found it all confus….LOLA! DONNA YOU DARE THROW UP ON MY COUCH!

“If You Deceive” by Kresley Cole
Bewarned. The clash of the titans is upon us. It’s King Kong v Godzilla, Hannibal v Clarice, Hulk Hogan v The Ultimate Warrior, Britney Spears v Hair extensions. And now, Ma’mselle Mimi v La Lola. Yes, you heard me. The onetime erstwhile good friends have found themselves on separate sides of the fence. On the side of the angels, there is La Lola. (Hello, I AM writing this after all). On the dark side, there is Ma’mselle Mimi.

“The Bride” by Julie Garwood
SHE. Youngest daughter of Baron Jamison, unfortunate recipient of an entirely androgynous name, right hand (wo)man to her good for nothing slacker father, metaphorically compared to her feisty half-wild horse, beautiful (like her horse), adored by her trusty old stable hand / father-figure Beak, hand-picked by The Kincaid to be his bride, and sent trundling off to the Highlands, where clan Kincaid reside. One of the more tolerable of all of Julie Garwood’s heroines (i.e. we feel no compulsion to magically reach into the book and slap her until she sees little cartoon birdies flying around her head).

“Ransom” by Julie Garwood
From the notebook of Sheridan Sakura Carlotta:
* Must ask Juan for another backrub. Don’t forget to ask him to take off his shirt first. Seems to be suspicious of the fact that we keep asking him to take off shirt - no longer seems to believe that it is stated in our lease agreement that we must have least one half nekkid man at all times in our offices. Must confer with La Lola on new plan.
* Must write new review.
