As some of you may know, “My Fair Lady†is Lola’s favourite musical. What’s not to love about a Pygmalion, worldly nobleman who takes in a spirited waif and against all odds, finds something in that unpolished diamond to love. This is a fish out of water at its best. So when Lola heard about “Voices of the Night†by Lydia Joyce, which has a cynical, seductive baron, gutsy street-rat and classic Pygmalion storyline, you had me at “cynical, seductive baron.â€
