“What the Duke Desires” by Jenna Petersen

A poem of apology to Jenna Petersen:

“Jenna Petersen, we love you, you rock

For an ARC you sent to us, instead of a smelly sock

Hugs and kisses have been sent your way

And we hope Sven finds you with a box of (his) unmentionables this Friday

We’re sorry we took so long to put up this post

A lot has been going on here, please don’t say we’re toast!

Our heads are hung with shame at this gaffe

Please don’t send a hitman to our offices on your behalf!”

Sometimes, it pays to have a missing brother

“Her Notorious Viscount” by Jenna Petersen

Sheridan steps onto the stage amidst applause.

Sheridan: Thank you, thank you, ladies and gentlemen. *mouths “hi Daniel! call me!! Roaawr!” and throws a flying kiss in Daniel Craig’s direction* Thank you. I am here, to present the award for Best Historical Bad Boy Rake of The Year (So Far) (for March 2009 anyway) We’d Like To Corner In A Dark Alleyway While Being Naked And With A Bottle Of Hershey’s Caramel Sauce. As you know, there are many contenders for this role and Alpha Males demanding recounts are encouraged to show up at our offices tomorrow morning, 9 am. Clothing optional.

J is my scarlet letter

lessons.jpg“Lessons From A Courtesan” by Jenna Petersen
Today’s review is brought to you by the letter “J”
Which would normally stand for “Juan” but not today
Today my heart belongs to Justin, the Earl of Baybary
An Alpha Male I currently love more than my chips and curry
I call dibs on Justin! All you ripmybodice readers out there
Because Sheridan doesn’t share
Not even with Lola who is wailing outside her office door
Or Mimi who is hacking her way through the floor
No doubt to wrestle “Lessons From A Courtesan” away from her possession
But they forget though that the WWE is my lifetime’s obsession
And so as I lay in wait in my glittery spandex tights
Ready to bring all kinds of hurtin’, I write

The Man with the Golden Torch

london.jpg“From London with Love” by Jenna Petersen

And so with this review we endeth the ‘Lady Spies’ series by Jenna Petersen. It is always a sad day at the RMB offices when one has finished another great series – it feels like you’re saying goodbye to an old friend, or friends as the case may be. Goodbye Grant Ashbury (aka Lord Westfield), goodbye Lucas Tyler, my love, my honey-bear, and now, goodbye Tristan Archer, Marquis of Carmichael – you, you who came so close in stealing my affections from Lucas. You three men are truly magn…what is it Mimi? Pshaw. What do you mean the ‘Lady Spies’ series is about a trio of beautiful and talented widowed women who use their wiles for Crown and country? It’s about the yummy-licious men! The hulking brooding men whose manly essence I wish to bathe in! Yeah alright, no need to start with the whole gagging again.

For your eyes only

desire1.jpg“Desire Never Dies” by Jenna Petersen
Having recently inadvertently stumbled upon the last book in a series of Romance Novels about a trio of female spies while on my bank account demolishing trip to London (and discovering the delectable Grant), Sheridan began a hunt of her own – for the other two books in the series. Like Sydney Bristow will undoubtedly tell you, any good spy on the hunt must, at all times, (a) look damn good; and (b) persevere until either: the assailant/terrorist is caught, the information has been obtained, or, in Sheridan’s case, the Romance novel has been acquired. After much stalking, cajoling, threats, and yes a scintillating car chase sequence to the nearest bookstore (and all while dressed in a too-cute for words black trench and accessorized with an adorable fedora), Sheridan was rewarded with an Alpha Male known as Tyler. Lucas Tyler.

Good Morning Charlie!!

seduction is forever“Seduction Is Forever” by Jenna Petersen
Greetings from jolly old London where I have been rendered destitute and on the brink of bankruptcy thanks to my recent jaunts up and around Oxford Circus. (Lola, if you’re reading this, you need to come get me at the airport love (I’ll be the one seated on my newly acquired Louis Vuitton monogrammed trunks and sporting my gorgeous new Manolos). I don’t think I have enough money to take cab it back to the RMB offices.)
