“To the Brink” by Cindy Gerard (Bodyguard Series, Book III)
Cindy Gerard adds another layer of complication to my life with “To the Brink”. Because now, not only do I have to find a man that fits all of these specifications (to name a few please see here, here, here, and here), I now need to find a man who has cherry breath. A man who loves sucking. On lifesavers. On cherry lifesavers. Lord help me! Cruel are you to taunt me with a man whose sweet tooth I’d like to nibble on meself. Add to the mix an all-consuming protective man, throw in some hard abs and broad shoulders, some unfulfilled longing, desire, heat and a large schlampadinkle, and you’ve got my vote for one of the hottest men committed to print by Cindy Gerard: Ethan Garrett.

“To the Edge” by Cindy Gerard (Bodyguard Series, Book I)
So the tagline on Cindy Gerard’s website for her Bodyguard Series is “they will not only guard your body, they’ll steal your heart and fulfill your deepest desires.” YOWZA! I’ve never had the greater urge to directly put myself in harm’s way than after reading “To the Edge”. Nolan Garrett, my love, you are a rump steak I would love to tenderly massage and then gnaw until the end of time. Come and protect *my* body (preferably) with your naked one! *Sheridan’s eyes glaze over* Initially I had wanted to render a musical tribute to the bodyguard series by serving up the ultimate theme song “I Will Always Love You” but attempts to hit Whitney Houston’s warbling high notes in preparation for this review have, I suspect, resulted in much anger in the ripmybodice offices. For example, this morning, I arrived at work to a bunch of rotten tomatoes strung across my door and a post-it note on my laptop saying “STOP SCREECHING LIKE A DYING CHICKEN SHERIDAN SAKURA CARLOTTA! - From, everybody within a 5 mile-radius of your office”. Well really. People really don’t give me enough musical credit.

“Take No Prisoners” by Cindy Gerard
So the problem with Cindy Gerard’s latest book to her Black Ops Inc. series is that there is a deficit in the Romance department. I might even go so far as to say that there has been a serious deficit and that the book might need a bail out plan to be drawn up by the Congress of Romance (i.e. the RMB girls). The people (i.e. our readers who have read the book before I did and Lola because for her a life without Grovel is a life not worth living) have spoken that they wish for more Grovel and really, Romance publishing houses should heed our cry. Perhaps Romance publishing houses should really just hire each of Lola, Mimi and I to provide our wise input into each book pre-publication (i.e. send us your ARCs damnit!!).
