Bondage and daddies and serial killers, oh my!

dark.jpg“One Dark Night” by Jaid Black
>>> Lola 28/12/2007 2:26:37 PM >>>
Hey Sheridan, how was your Christmas? In case you’re wondering, I’m emailing you because I stumbled onto Mimi and Juan wrapped up in a VERY compromising position. Mimi claims that they were trying out the new electronic massager she received for Christmas but I remain unconvinced. Hence I am avoiding going out into the corridors, as I have been unable to get visions of Juan’s sugarplums out of my head. But thank you for the little stocking stuffer you gave me, i.e “One Dark Night” by Jaid Black. Although I have to tell you, there was something a bit wrong about reading it on the day of our Lord’s birth!

Is that Excalibur or are you just happy to see me?

sword.jpg“Sword of Darkness” by Kinley MacGregor
The world loves a good King Arthur story. Hello? Clive Owen aka Barebodied Hunka Burning Love in chain mail brandishing his long sword? And don’t even get me started on the weapon he fights with! Gimme some of that somethin’ somethin’! *clears throat and looks at Sheridan’s and Mimi’s pained faces*

For your eyes only

desire1.jpg“Desire Never Dies” by Jenna Petersen
Having recently inadvertently stumbled upon the last book in a series of Romance Novels about a trio of female spies while on my bank account demolishing trip to London (and discovering the delectable Grant), Sheridan began a hunt of her own – for the other two books in the series. Like Sydney Bristow will undoubtedly tell you, any good spy on the hunt must, at all times, (a) look damn good; and (b) persevere until either: the assailant/terrorist is caught, the information has been obtained, or, in Sheridan’s case, the Romance novel has been acquired. After much stalking, cajoling, threats, and yes a scintillating car chase sequence to the nearest bookstore (and all while dressed in a too-cute for words black trench and accessorized with an adorable fedora), Sheridan was rewarded with an Alpha Male known as Tyler. Lucas Tyler.

Jingle bells, Batman smells, Robin laid an egg

On this beautiful Christmas day we, the RMB girls (and our oh-so-firm bodied staff), would like to wish all of you our faithful and gorgeous readers, posters, lurkers, authors, haters, critics and fans, a most happy, merry and joyful Christmas!

Remember, always carry a mistletoe with you during this time wherever you go - this makes it easier (read: justifiable) to make out with an attractive stranger for no reason whatsoever.

Lots of Christmas love with a dash of something alcoholic,
Lola, Mimi, Sheridan, Juan and Sven

All I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold night air

voices.jpg“Voices of the Night” by Lydia Joyce
As some of you may know, “My Fair Lady” is Lola’s favourite musical. What’s not to love about a Pygmalion, worldly nobleman who takes in a spirited waif and against all odds, finds something in that unpolished diamond to love. This is a fish out of water at its best. So when Lola heard about “Voices of the Night” by Lydia Joyce, which has a cynical, seductive baron, gutsy street-rat and classic Pygmalion storyline, you had me at “cynical, seductive baron.”

It so totally is a very steamy Christmas - Part III of III

51256xrqqwl_ss500_.jpg“Playing Easy to Get” - “The Warlord Wants Forever” by Kresley Cole
*walks into Lola’s office* “HOT DAMN Kresley Cole’s story was hot. Truly Lola I think we should bundle off some sort of RMB hamper to Supervixen for introducing us to the magic that is Kresley Cole. Hey where are you?”

“(muffled) I’m here”

“Where? I don’t see you! Hey why is there a mountain of blankets in the middle of your office? Don’t you know that it’s a fire hazard?”

“(muffled) I AM the mountain of blankets”
“Oh. Heh. Not still mad are you? Come on I’ve just finished reading the “Playing Hard to Get” anthology series and I’m now ready to discuss it with you! I especially want to discuss Wroth with you. Wroth. The mere mention of his name brings a special tingle up and down my spine. I want to lick him all over like a Christmas lollipop that has been dusted with icing sugar!!”

“(muffled) Sheridan Sakura Carlotta! What did I tell you about sharing too much information?!”

Bah humbug!

master.jpg“Master of Desire” by Kinley MacGregor
*slamming of front door*

“Finally! I’m back everybody!”

*Lola comes traipsing into the RMB offices, taking off her Chanel shades and peering around quizzically.*

“Oh there you are Juan! Felice Navidad!” *totters off in her platforms, blithely oblivious to the killing look that’s been thrown her way by Juan, who’s fed up with yet another tired stereotype.*

It’s beginning to look a lot like (a very steamy) Christmas - Part II of III

51256xrqqwl_ss500_.jpg“Playing Easy to Get” - “Hunter’s Oath” by Jaid Black

As Juan threw another meaty log to the fire, Sheridan continued her quest to finish the anthology known as “Playing Easy to Get” (as so mysteriously thrust upon her by Lola who, incidentally, was still on the roof in her bikini). Snuggling deeper into her velvet couch as Sven tucked her in under a woolen blanket, Sheridan turned to Jaid Black’s “Hunter’s Oath”, a story about a mysterious tribe of Vikings who have been living underground for as long as humans have roamed above, and who have been kidnapping us human women to be auctioned off as their brides for just as long. *perks up* A story about being kidnapped and then sold to lusty Alpha Viking male warriors?! Fantastic.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas - Part I of III

playing easy to get“Playing Easy to Get” - “Turn up the Heat” by Sherrilyn Kenyon
*looks up to find Mimi standing silently in front of my desk* “GEEEEEZUS Mimi! You gotta make some noise now and then before you do that. You want my skin you gotta WAIT for it! You can’t rush things!” *sees Mimi reaching into her pocket and pulling out a note* “For me? Aww….hey wait a minute. If it says “I’ve hidden Santa’s remains in all your bags” again I am telling you now, it wasn’t funny the first time, it ain’t going to be funny this time…huh? Why is she… Are you sure? Yeah alright I’ll head up.” *Sashays up the stairs to the pool deck and sees Lola lying in her bikini on what used to be our pool (now frozen over and used as Mimi’s little cryogenic experiment lab) in the middle of the worst blizzard we RMB girls had seen in a long time*

A Hunting Good Time

stranger in my arms“Stranger in my Arms” by Lisa Kleypas
It sounds like a plot of a fabulous daytime soap but with a healthy dash of Romance – cruel husband neglects wife during marriage, leaves on a journey of adventure to an exotic land. His ship, wrecked along the high seas on its return voyage, none survived. Years later, his beautiful widow receives word that he has returned…or rather, a tantalizingly good looking, slightly dangerous and intense version of her once thought dead husband is claiming to be her husband. The beautiful widow is lost in a frenzied turmoil of confusion and lust – she doesn’t want her husband back but yet, this man, this beautiful beautiful man who claims to be her husband and who has apologized for doing her wrong is like a piece of candy you want to suck on all day long. *wink* Ah good old Lisa Kleypas. One can always count on her to keep Sheridan Sakura Carlotta’s Manwich Party well stacked.
